Merry Christmas everyone ! - to everyone who celebrates Christmas.

(This is another impromptu video I did without writing it out first, so that’s what I mean about how I speak differently from how I write. BUT I want to show up more IN my Heart space speaking verbally. Here goes:)

I have a little story that is coming to me. I wanted to share a tiny video clip of my parents’ - who live on the East Coast - of their real Christmas tree. They do the German tradition - or the old Germany tradition - of having candles on the tree. (And you always get a fresh tree, you can’t have doors open in the house - they do it as safely as possible - no breezes in the house, no walking around, it’s a very meditative thing.

I love this tradition, I wish I could be there this year, and I just love this tradition. I love how cozy they make it, it’s just amazing having cables on the tree with all the ornaments, all the stories, it’s so SWEET!

And I remember before I moved to the West Coast for the 2nd time, really pushing back against my parents traditions - (almost like a teenager!, but I was in my 40’s) - really just wanting to do my own version, somehow, of Christmas. And now that I’m less close to them physically, I wish I could be with them more easily.

But I DO know, that even though I had to separate myself from all the rules and their way of being, I had to cut the umbilical cord. I really needed to find my best self, my own self, my own voice .. So I’m really grateful that I have a connection with them now that I didn’t have before.

And I think it’s because I went on this Solo journey for myself, and now I’m able to love BETTER.

I’m just hoping that everybody can get on some kind of journey to KNOW ourselves better, so that we can love others better.
