Day 375 Art Meditation, March 14, 2024

Cookie of the month! 

“Orange Shortbread Cookie with Chocolate”. 

I still don’t have the perfect timing down (the 1st of the month), but this is all still new. 

I try to find a cookie I have never baked before, and these are much more delicious than I thought they would be. It’s the orange zest, butter and chocolate combined. Perfect for dipping into tea or coffee.

One serving 5-large, 5-medium, 5 small.

A gift that this All-lines-are-beautiful-journey brought to me is to fully embrace my little girl-me. To play as an adult and make it more public. It’s a mix of healing and finding joy, and learning how to continuously act from that joyous inner space.

I even bought a new set of circle cookie cutters for this cookie, to match my logo. :)

Logically, it makes no sense for me to put these Peg art dolls into the photo, but it’s exactly the kind of thing I remember doing in my childhood, where we had so much domestic bliss … (too). It’s such a small joy but even those small joys are so important.

These hand-painted Christmas ornaments are from the wonderful NYC @MomaDesignStore, one of my happy-places that I feel emotionally connected to. The dolls happen to be the thing I have on my desk right now, and part of me wants to keep them out all year. LOVE.

The one set is the “Peacemakers” set - Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Gandi, and Mother Teresa. The 2nd set is the “Trailblazers” set - Ruby Bridges, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Ida B. Wells, and Malala.

In spite of really hard days, I continue to believe in moving forward one inch at a time with everything that fills my heart up with joy. Cookie and peg art dolls. All I can do is continue to be me, follow everything I love to do, make it beautiful, and delicious and pour all my heart into it every day, even the days that hurt.
