My Circle-art dress arrived!! I am so excited about how MUCH I love it, how it makes me feel!

I bought one for me because I needed to know if I genuinely LOVE this dress and feel good about selling it. It’s a GO!

I dreaded the photoshoot in the morning, and I crashed from the exhaustion of it afterwards. Showing up with my whole body is the hardest thing for me.

I’ve spent my whole life having body shame, even when I was skinner.

But this week, with this dress, I choose JOY!

It’s so simple.

It’s freeing.

Somehow, curiously, as I create more JOY for myself, I run into really amazing external joy. This car in front of me the other night completely decked out with Christmas joy - lights, music, and almost a full garden’s worth of trees and Santas on top of the roof. (See video clip below). Which makes me think of all of our innate JOY that we are born with …

I’ve been re-watching the newest Anne of Green Gables series, and what I love about this version of the books is how MUCH her natural joy comes out even while she is not sure she is going to get adopted. The part I relate to is how she is “too much”. The HUGE joy that comes out of her in spite of all the trauma she experienced (nothing compared to my small traumas). It’s fiction, I know, but still …

It’s really healing for me to watch a girl walk through life and figure out where she can plug in her joy. Who she can trust, who will support her and if she ever just decides to shut down.

Which she doesn’t. And I’m relieved.
