Day #66 …. Okay, my sweets. My boyfriend recently told me, not for the first time, that I’m kind of pushy about what it means to live out of your heart. The intention is well meant, but it’s still pushy, and pushy is always annoying. On the other hand, he fully expects me to be fully authentic to who I am, which is pushy. It’s an ode to my noble East Prussian Great Grandmother or my Northern German mother and family. I don’t think he understands these regions, the cultural references, and I live too far away from my German cousins to help in translation. Correct, Correct, Correct! Perfection, Perfection, Perfection! In this case there is a more perfect way of living and it’s that incredible soft space that happens in life when things are solved from deeply open heart spaces. Still, he and I are big on transforming thoughts/living, so my cultural references only go so far….
My art for today is an off-shoot of yesterdays ‘Create Openings”. As I designed more, I thought of a new one: Inside a Heart. What is IN your heart? Are there rigid straight lines, walls, or are there curvy wide openings, and instead of black, warmer colors …. I’m sure there are a thousand ways to illustrate this … What I like most especially is the idea this art asks, which is that a heart is not a heart … A heart can be - at the risk of being pushy - closed and walled off or open and open. :) Every day I come across invitations to question this for my own life … Not just the big life things, but the tiny five minute windows, too …. xoox
My 100 Day Art Challenge: Inspired by the importance of living creatively and whole heartedly, not perfectly, on March 8 I started a 100 Day Art Challenge. My assignment is to work on something a minimum of one hour a day and post the process, in a transparent way. Decide at a later point what of the art to use in my memoir, and also what to develop more. To design into my Blog topics, a Book of Opposites icons and whatever else comes up, inspiration wise.
