Our Birth Story

The dark blue of my logo is a 5 min movie of my (and my twin’s) miracle birth story. I wrote, art-directed and produced this for a final school project. Putting this together was one of the most blissful weeks of my life. This class taught me how much I love to ‘knit’ movies with art and my words. It’s as detailed as knitting, but you get a totally different product.

This is my mini-documentary of my and my twin brother's miraculous birth story At Sea on the Atlantic Ocean, on the ship 'Aurelia'. Our birth certificates cite latitude and longitude lines, and our passports Place of Birth says “At Sea”.

We were born 2 months premature, each weighing 3 lbs each. The Aurelia was a hospital ship but not equipped for premature twins. We are so grateful for everyone onboard who became our impromptu medical team, and made our fragile beginnings a safe one, much to the joy and gratitude of our parents, family and friends.

I am so grateful to have as part of this mini-documentary the voices of my parents Hedwig and Robert, which makes the movie that much more meaningful.
